Crispy around the edges, gooey and cheesy on top, and packed with savory ranch flavor, this Cheesy Ranch Bread turns a simple baguette into an irresistible bread appetizer or side dish.
And they couldn’t be much easier to make.
Slices of crusty baguette are spread with a creamy mixture of mayonnaise and ranch seasoning, topped with plenty of shredded cheddar cheese, and baked until warm and bubbly. A quick finish under the broiler gives them those wonderfully crisp, golden edges. Serve these little bites as an appetizer for parties or game day, alongside a bowl of soup or chili, or instead of plain bread with dinner. They’re easy, versatile, and always seem to disappear fast.

Recipe Tips
Turn up the ranch flavor. If you like more flavor, simply add a little more ranch seasoning to the mayonnaise mixture.
Give them a crispy finish. For crispier edges and beautifully browned cheese, switch the oven to broil after baking. Broil just until the cheese is bubbly and the edges begin to brown. Keep a close eye on them because bread can brown quickly under the broiler.
Add bacon. Sprinkle cooked bacon pieces over the cheese before baking for an extra-savory version. Freshly cooked bacon or packaged bacon pieces will both work.
Change the cheese. Cheddar is my go-to, but Monterey Jack, Colby, Colby Jack, or a Mexican cheese blend are easy substitutes. Mixing a couple of cheeses works beautifully, too.
Try them on the grill. Combine the shredded cheese with the mayonnaise and ranch seasoning, then spread the mixture over the baguette slices. Place them on a preheated grill and cook for about five minutes, or until the bread is toasted and the cheese has melted.
Choose the right bread. A traditional French baguette is ideal because the smaller slices make perfect individual bites. Ficelle and Italian bread are also great choices.
